Youth Sports

The City of Fairfield’s Youth Sports program is centered around, but not restricted to, seasonal team and individual sports. Our philosophy of "Youth First, Winning Second" is reflected in the extensive and continual training of Recreation Staff in preparation for each season. Our positive Youth Sports opportunities are designed to enhance and build positive recreational experiences and healthy lifelong habits.

We follow a "no cut" policy focusing our efforts on teaching responsibility, sportsmanship, game rules, fundamental skills, and strategy. Care is given to teach participants how to concentrate on the things they can control and to develop a healthy attitude toward hard work (practice), team concepts, and positive, healthy competition. Our objective is to implement positive values and principles from which participants develop confidence, emotional self-control, and respect for themselves, as individuals, and others. Our youth sports programs offer opportunities for team building and making friends of the same age. Our volunteer coaches are trained and knowledgeable and go through a background check. For more information on any of our Youth Sport programs please contact Dee Webster at 707.428.7584.
