Join us for a volunteer experience with the City of Fairfield. Listed below are volunteer jobs that require a six month commitment. Many of the positions require a background screening. If you are interested, please complete the Volunteer Application, Supplemental Questionnaire and Volunter Waiver Form .
Golf VolunteersPlayers assistants and golf marshal volunteers are needed at Paradise Valley and Rancho Solano Golf Courses. Miminum age 21. Must have some golf experience. Contact Daryl Parenteau at Paradise at 707.426.1600 or Jim Wagner at Rancho Solano at 707.429.4653 for more information. 
Clerical SupportNo current postings. Water Treatment OperatorsWater Treatment volunteers will assist staff in water treatment operations at either the Waterman Treatment Plant or the North Bay Regional Treatment Plant (NBR). Minimum age 18. Must possess a T-2 license. One four hour shift per week for 4-6 months.
DriversThe Senior Center needs drivers for the Senior Day Trip program. One or two shifts per month desired. Background check required and clear DMV report. Minimum age 21. Must be comfortable driving around the Bay Area and able to assist seniors. The day trips are generally 8-9 hours so it involves a commitment of the entire day. Trips occur on weekdays and weekends.
The Senior Center also needs a Coordinator for their Day Trip program. This volunteer position involves researching trips, organizing, planning and marketing the trips, and assigning and training drivers. The current Coordinator spends approximately 10 hours per week and plans 4-7 trips per month. Background check required. A mature, responsible, detail-oriented person would be the ideal candidate.
The Senior Center also needs drivers on Mondays and/or Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to drive seniors to and from the Senior Center, doctor appointments and the pharmacy. Background check required and clear DMV report. Minimum age 50.
PAL (Police Activities League) – Matt Garcia Youth CenterThere are many volunteer opportunities available at PAL such as coaching, mentoring, tutoring, program assistants, program leaders, card dealers, referees and scorekeepers. For more information, contact Heather Sanderson at 707.422.MATT (6288). Background check required. Minimum age 18. PAL is also looking for a volunteer that can translate English information into Spanish.
VIPS (Volunteers in Police Service)As part of the Police Department, this new program will utilize volunteers to perform clerical tasks, assist with search and rescue activities, senior wellness checks, vacation checks, writing citations for disabled parking violations, and much more.
