Fairfield Police Student Internship Program

An internship with Fairfield Police Department is a valuable experience where students, while enrolled in college, can gain realistic learning experiences through vocational work at the Fairfield Police Department.

During the Internship, the Police Internship Coordinator along with the assigned Unit Supervisor will help to establish goals and will give assignments to student interns.

Besides gaining a valuable learning experience, the student intern can earn credits (based on hours per week) that might be used toward a Criminal Justice Degree. Student interns are required to work a minimum number of hours to receive college unit credit.

Internships coincide with Solano Community College academic semesters:

  • Fall semester is 4 months from August - December
  • Spring semester is 4 month from January - May
  • Summer semester is 2 months from June - August

Internships during the Fall and Spring semesters require a minimum of 4 hours per week to fulfill the Fairfield VIPS Volunteer hour requirements.

Internships during the Summer semester require a minimum of 8 hours per week to fulfill the Fairfield VIPS hour requirements.
