Application & Process

Applications for Fairfield Green Business Awards will be accepted in March & April. Local Fairfield businesses, non-profits or schools that can demonstrate that their recycling and diversion is making a difference in reducing the total taken to the landfill can qualify and are encouraged to apply. Diversion and recycling can be accomplished by donating, selling, recycling, or repurposing items that are no longer needed. The diversion must be measureable, and it can be tracked through various means to reach the goal of 50% or more (in total weight) vs the debris/trash hauled to the landfill. Winners of the award will be presented a plaque during a City Council Meeting. For more information contact Esther Blanco at 707.428.7528.
