Help Shape our Council Election Districts

Next Meeting to be Held November 9

The City of Fairfield will be creating new districts for future City Council elections.
Currently, Fairfield voters elect four Councilmembers and the Mayor through an atlarge election system,
where a Council candidate can reside anywhere in the city limits. Councilmembers are elected by the voters
of the entire City and provide citywide representation. A districtbased election system, on the other hand,
is one in which the City is physically divided into separate districts, with one Councilmember who resides
in each district and is elected by the voters living in that particular district.
You can help to shape these districts by attending one of the public meetings, or even by submitting
your own map!
