Veterans Day Parade
The Fairfield Main Street Association and the American Legion host the 2012 Veterans Day Commemoration & Parade in downtown Fairfield on Sunday, November 11.

The day will begin at 10 a.m. with a Ceremony of Remembrance featuring a concert of patriotic-themed music by Alive Music Orchestra. The ceremony will take place at the Fairfield Community Center, 1000 Kentucky Street.

This year's Grand Marshal is Brigadier General John C. Flournoy, commander of the 349th Air Mobility Wing at Travis Air Force Base. He leads the largest Reserve Associate Wing in the Air Force, which provides combat-ready crews and support for the C-17 Globemaster II, C-5 Galaxy, and KC-10 Extender aircrafts. The wing also provides expeditionary support to the war fighter in all aspects of air base security and operations, medical care throughout the Area of Responsibility, and patient transportation

The parade begins at 12:30 p.m.

Awards - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in over 25 categories; trophies for "Best Use of Theme" and "Grand Sweepstakes"; Participation Ribbon to all entrants
