City of Fairfield and local economic development partners, industry leaders and elected officials announced the launch of a new Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) Program, designed to proactively engage Fairfield businesses, identify challenges and opportunities within the local economy, and deliver customized support to help companies stay, grow, and thrive in the city. This new BRE Program will be led by the City of Fairfield in partnership with the Solano Economic Development Corporation (EDC), Solano-Napa Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Workforce Development Board of Solano County, Fairfield-Suisun Chamber of Commerce, and Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, conducting listening sessions with Fairfield businesses and then providing tailored and comprehensive support as part of the City’s ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration with local economic and workforce development partners, and support the long-term success of Fairfield businesses.

“The launch of this new partnership and joint BRE Program culturally demonstrates the strength and commitment of Fairfield’s business community,” said Dave Zellers, Director of Community and Economic Development. “Our goal is to ensure companies have the tools, resources, and partnership they need to continue investing in Fairfield. The BRE Program is a major step forward in creating a supportive, business-friendly environment.”

Businesses that participate in the BRE Program will receive tailored support from the Local Partners Consortium, including:

• City of Fairfield – provides coordinated support through on-site visits, technical assistance, workforce and training resources, permitting help, and access to financial incentives and partner services.
• Workforce Development Board (WDB) of Solano County – provides training funds and assistance with hiring and job searches.
• Solano Economic Development Corporation (EDC) – serves as a conduit to regional initiatives and state-level funding opportunities.
• Solano-Napa Small Business Development Center (SBDC) – supports entrepreneurs and small businesses with operational problem-solving, growth planning, and day-to-day decision-making.
• Fairfield-Suisun Chamber of Commerce – provides advocacy, networking, and marketing support.
• Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce – offers culturally focused support, training, and connections.
• Visit Fairfield – promotes local attractions and drives visitors to Fairfield businesses through tourism marketing and partnerships.
