About the program

The Façade Improvement Program is intended to encourage business owners and commercial property owners to enhance the appearance of properties through improvements of the exterior facades of commercial buildings, the addition of outdoor seating, and/or the installation of non-temporary business building signage in commercial areas.

The Program is a 50/50 matching grant program designed to support businesses throughout the Heart of Fairfield Plan Area, providing the opportunity for property and business owners to reinvest in their properties while creating a more attractive commercial environment in order to strengthen economic vitality in the Heart of Fairfield Plan Area.

Façade, outdoor seating, and signage improvements can have a significant impact on appearance, community pride, economic setting, and marketability of the properties and businesses located in the City of Fairfield’s Heart of Fairfield Plan Area.

Interested business owners and commercial property owners are encouraged to apply with the City’s Economic Development Division and can download the Program Flyer and Administrative Guidelines and Application below:
