Golf Advisory Board

One seat is available on the Golf Advisory Board (GAB) to fill a term from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2029.

The Golf Advisory Board is a seven-member board that advises on promoting and developing golf for all ages in the community at Paradise Valley and Rancho Solano golf courses. The board is scheduled to meet quarterly on the first Thursday of February, May, August, and November at 4 p.m. at the Dunnell Nature Center. All applicants must be residents of the city of Fairfield and active participants at Rancho Solano Golf Course and/or Paradise Valley Golf Course.

Solano Commission for Women and Girls

One seat is available on the Solano Commission for Women and Girls to represent Fairfield. The Solano Commission for Women and Girls aims to improve the economic status, health and social welfare, and overall quality of life for women and girls in Solano County. The term is from January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2028.

The purpose of the Commission is to provide community education and advisement to the Solano County Board of Supervisors and other entities in the county on issues relating to the changing social and economic conditions of women and girls. The Commission will increase awareness of women’s issues, celebrate the achievements of local deserving women, champion opportunities for women and girls and recommend legislative solutions at the city, county, state and federal levels.

Solano County Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees

Deadline is 5:00 P.M. Thursday, November 13, 2025

One seat is available on the Solano County Mosquito Abatement District (SCMAD) Board of Trustees for a term of January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2027. Applicants must be a registered voter within the city of Fairfield. The appointing body of trustee does not receive compensation but does receive an in lieu travel expense of $100 for attending each regularly scheduled board meeting. The mayor will appoint the commission members with the approval of the City Council.

SCMAD is a special district responsible for mosquito abatement throughout the incorporated and unincorporated areas of Solano County, which covers over 900 square miles.

SCMAD was founded in 1930 to control the pestiferous Aedes mosquitoes produced in the 184-square-mile Suisun Marsh. It was formed according to guidelines set forth by the Mosquito Abatement Act of 1915 and the California Health and Safety Code.

The SCMAD Board of Trustees meetings are held on the second Monday of every month. Meetings are held at the District Office, 2950 Industrial Court, Fairfield, at 7:30 p.m.

Landscape Oversight Committee

This Committee is open until filled.

One seat is open for District 2 on the Landscape Oversight Committee (Committee). This Committee has a representative from each of the six districts and one at-large representative for a five year term. If you are unsure of which district you reside in, please click here to find out. The Committee meets quarterly and provides feedback and input regarding major decisions affecting the management of landscaping in Fairfield.

The Committee provides fiscal oversight and reviews the Public Works Department’s landscaping management throughout the city. A primary focus of the Committee will be to improve the effectiveness, transparency, and financial oversight of the 16 Landscaping & Lighting Maintenance Districts. The Committee will review the annual budgets, projected expenditures, assessment levels, and provide management oversight.

Maddy Act - Local Appointments List

Incompliance with the requirements of the Maddy Act, California Government Code Section 54972, the following appointment list of the City of Fairfield Commission and Committee members is posted on an annual basis by December 31. The City of Fairfield encourages residents to apply for positions in an effort to build an applicant pool representative of the whole community. Commissioners and Committee members serve at the pleasure of the legislative body, must be residents of the City of Fairfield, and be 18 years of age or older. Youth Commissioners must be between the ages of 13 and 19.
