On Thursday, February 19, the Fairfield-Suisun Chamber of Commerce and the City of Fairfield hosted the “2025 – A Year Well Served” State of the City event at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Attendees joined a morning program with remarks from Mayor Catherine “Cat” Moy, City Manager David Gassaway, and Chamber President Lisa Bonnington. Over breakfast, the speakers shared where Fairfield stands today and highlighted key milestones from the past year.

The program also featured a keynote from Dr. Sanjay Varshney, a finance professor at Sacramento State, who offered his outlook on regional economic trends and what they could mean for Fairfield and the surrounding area in 2025 and beyond. The morning wrapped up with discussion and Q&A, giving residents and local leaders practical takeaways on the economic direction ahead.
