The BRE Program brings together key community partners for regular business visits—both in-person and virtual—to:

• Learn directly from business leaders about their operations, challenges, and future plans

• Provide comprehensive support, including workforce resources, training, funding, and business development tools

• Foster collaboration among businesses, government, and regional partners to retain and expand Fairfield’s valued employers

Program Goals

The New Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) Program was created to address one of the most common challenges businesses face: navigating resources and support while planning for growth. Too often, business owners are left to connect the dots on their own—whether it’s finding skilled workers, accessing funding, or overcoming regulatory hurdles. The BRE Program solves this by bringing together Fairfield’s key economic development partners into a single, coordinated effort. Through regular business visits and ongoing collaboration, the program ensures that businesses receive direct, personalized support, making it easier to overcome obstacles, expand operations, and thrive in Fairfield’s competitive economy.

How It Works

• Monthly Business Visits: Partners participate in 1–2 visits each month with targeted industries such as defense, food manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, and biotechnology.

• Coordinated Support: The City of Fairfield and its partners provide tailored assistance based on each business’s needs.

• Ongoing Collaboration: Partners convene quarterly to share insights, align strategies, and strengthen Fairfield’s business environment.
