How do I file a claim for monetary damages against the City?

Claim forms are not available online. It is the intent of the City to know why claim forms are being requested to ensure a dangerous condition is addressed upon notice.

How is a claim handled after it is filed?

After a claim is filed, it is investigated by the Risk Manager. If you are not contacted within 10 days of filing, please contact Chris Carmona by email at ccarmona@fairfield.ca.gov or calling 707-399-5623. An internal investigation will be conducted and the results are forwarded to you usually within 10 business days as to whether the claim will be accepted on denied.
What is the City's sales tax rate in Fairfield and what percent of the Sales Tax does the City receive?

The City receives approximately 24% of the 8.375% sales tax generated in the City. 1% is the local rate portion of the total 8.375% rate and another 1% comes from Measure P.
What percent of the 1% in property tax does the City receive?

Approximately 16% of the 1% base tax on properties in the incorporated city limits.
