Low Income Senior/Disabled Water Refund

IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THE LOW INCOME SENIOR/DISABLED WATER REFUND YOU MUST MEET ALL 5 OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

1. The claimant must be the “HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD”. This means the person filing or who would file a federal income tax return as head of household, or single individual, or the husband, or wife, if a joint return is filed.

2. The combined annual “Gross Income” of the household must be less than $54,950 for the preceding calendar year - 2025. This includes all compensation for wages, salaries, tips, interest income, dividends, rental income (after expenses), royalties, pensions, annuities, social security, SSI and alimony.

3. You must have been a customer of Fairfield Municipal Utilities for the entire 12 months of 2025 and the account must be in your name.

4. No other application for a refund can have been made for the same calendar year.

5. The claimant must be one of the following:

a. Age 62 or older by March 1st of the calendar year 2025

b. 100% disabled. The claimant must be considered disabled under the Social Security law and have received supplemental Social Security Income for disabled persons during the year for which the refund is claimed - 2025. A copy of 2025 Social Security Administration letter of disability award must accompany this declaration.

c. Veterans Pension. The claimant must be a veteran in receipt of non-service connected disability pension from the Veterans Administration. A copy of a current Veteran’s Administration pension award letter addressed to the veteran must accompany this declaration.
