Groundbreaking Ceremony Announced for 2030 North Texas Recreation Center Project
The City of Fairfield invites residents to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the 2030 North Texas Recreation Center Project, scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at 2030 N. Texas Street—the future site of First 5 Solano.
This milestone marks a key step in the City’s Community Spaces initiative and the five-year implementation plan to transform underused land into inclusive, active, and safe community destinations.
The 4.43-acre site, located adjacent to Linear Park Trail, will feature a 6,700-square-foot recreation center, multi-use sports fields, playgrounds, a jogging trail, picnic areas, and a fitness zone. First 5 Solano Children and Families Commission will serve as the long-term tenant, offering essential early childhood and family services.
Construction is expected to begin later this year and continue through April 2026. For public safety, fencing will restrict access during construction. Project updates and traffic impacts will be communicated as needed.
