Converting to a water-efficient landscape through proper choice of plants and careful design can reduce outdoor water use by 20-50%. Remove your grass lawn to create a water wise landscape and receive a rebate up to $1,500.

By converting to a water-wise garden you:

• Save Water, Time and Money - Water wise plants don't need a lot of water or maintenance once its established. 

• Help Local Pollinators – Create habitat for bees, butterflies, birds and bugs that are beneficial to our environment.

• Improve Soil Health –When using mulch, you are providing further nutrients to your soil.

• Increase Curb Appeal – A water-wise garden can be more than just succulents. There are many colorful and vibrant water wise plants to choose from like lavender, yarrow and salvia's. 

• Promote Climate Readiness - During times of drought, you may cut back on watering which can result into a dry unappealing grass. By replacing your lawn with a water wise garden, these plants know how to thrive in a drought and will continue to provide color to your garden.

Get rebates of up to $50 for each eligible water saving product, or up to $250 for all five. Eligible products include:

• Hot Water Recirculating System Components: This system will provide instant hot water which will help eliminate the need to wait for water to heat up. 

• Laundry-to-Landscape Components: Reuse water from your washing machine to irrigate your garden. It involves redirecting the used water also called graywater,to water your landscape.

• Pool Cover: Using a pool cover can prevent up to 95 percent of pool water evaporation.

• Rain Barrel: Rain barrels capture water from a roof and hold it for later use such as on lawns, gardens or indoor plants.

• Rain Sensor: These products are designed to interrupt a scheduled irrigation event when a certain amount of rain has fallen on your landscape

Second only to bathrooms, laundry is the second biggest indoor water user. When looking for a new washer, opt for one with that is under ENERGY STAR's Most Efficient label. Washing machines under this label deliver superior efficiency and performance by incorporating advanced features. They use 25% less energy and 33% less water. Buy and install a qualifying high-efficiency clothes washer to receive a rebate of up to $100. 

Replacing a standard clock-based controller with a WaterSense labeled weather-based irrigation controller can save an average home nearly 7,600 gallons of water annually. Install a smart irrigation controller to qualify for a rebate of 50% of the cost, up to $300. With a smart controller you can:

• Use real time weather data and landscape conditions to tailor irrigation schedules

• Skips watering days when it rains for you

• Meet the watering needs of a landscape without overwatering by adjusting the schedule to weather changes

• Fine-tune watering schedules based on specific zones in your landscape, such as lawns, gardens, or shrub beds. This makes it easy to tailor the system to the unique needs of different areas.

• Many controllers can be controlled via smartphone apps, allowing you to adjust settings without needing to be onsite

Purchase a qualifying drought-tolerant tree and receive a rebate of 50% of the cost, up to $50 per tree (maximum of two trees per household).

The purpose of the Treebate Program is to encourage homeowners to plant trees in and around their home in order to:

• Cool homes/reduce heat gradient

• Encourage wildlife

• Help prevent erosion

• Reduce stormwater runoff

Purchase a Flume device for $65 (not including shipping or tax) after rebate. With Flume, you can monitor your water use real-time, detect leaks and receive potential leak alerts from the comfort of your smartphone. By knowing how much water you use and when, you can avoid water waste and take control of your household water use. 

In Partnership with Pacific Gas and Electric’s Energy Savings Assistance Program (ESA), Solano County Water Agency offers indoor leak assessment and potential retrofit for inefficient, older model toilets. 

Eligible customers must be participants in PG&E’s (ESA) Program and must meet income-based requirements

Install a qualifying smart controller to irrigate your existing landscape and you could receive up to $300, $700, or $1000 depending on the number of stations.

The Solano County Water Agency offers $1.50 per square foot for a maximum of $7,500 (5,000 sq. ft.) to commercial customers in Solano County.
