East-West Water Transmission Pipeline construction starts soon

The next phase of construction on the East-West Water Transmission Pipeline Project will begin in late January and continue through the fall of 2020. The work in this ongoing project will consist of trenching and construction of a new 36” large diameter water transmission pipeline under Clay Bank Road and Manuel Campos Parkway.

This pipeline will connect the North Bay Regional Water Treatment Plant to the water storage facilities in the Cordelia area, adding operational flexibility and increasing reliability in providing water to the area.

Work, which will begin on Clay Bank Road, will require temporary, intermittent lane closures and detours. A flagger will be posted at either end of the area to ensure your safety and pedestrian access may be restricted temporarily during the day. At the end of each working day, however, two-way traffic will resume.

Please check the City of Fairfield website, Facebook, and Nextdoor posts for updates. Utility work will be performed in multiple phases and construction activities will cause disruptions on each of the streets several times. View map

We apologize in advance for any disruption, but we look forward to improving the water utility infrastructure for continued, reliable service to Fairfield’s residents and businesses.
