FAST implements new operational procedures

During this COVID-19 crisis, FAST is implementing new operational procedures to promote social distancing measures that will help “flatten the curve” and reduce the spread of COVID-19.

This temporary measure is meant to eliminate passenger interaction with fareboxes and reduce close contact between drivers and passengers. Don’t forget, passengers riding FAST Local routes can enter and exit through the rear doors of the buses (except those needing assistance via the accessible ramp) and are encouraged to practice social distancing by sitting six feet away from the drivers and each other.

Although FAST has reduced its services by 50% within town and Suisun, they have teamed up with Solano Transportation Authority to offer Lyft services through the First/Last Mile Program, especially for Essential Critical Infrastructure workers who still need to get to work. The Lyft First/Last Mile Program provides an 80% discount on Lyft rides up to $25 to and from local transportation centers in Solano County.

Commuters can use the Lyft Program for travel to and from the Vallejo Ferry Terminal, Suisun Train Station, Fairfield-Vacaville Hannigan Train Station, and the Fairfield Transportation Center. To accommodate those traveling to perform essential tasks, additional sites are being accommodated.

Sign up for the Lyft Program, call 800-535-6883, download the Lyft mobile app to your phone, and you’ll be notified as soon as the ride discount is activated on your account.
