The City of Fairfield Homeless Services Division will partner with Mission Samoa, Inc., to provide up to 10 homeless individuals with temporary housing, transportation, case management, and job training to assist them in becoming self-sufficient. In addition, Mission Samoa, Inc. will work with the Fairfield Housing Authority to provide Tenant Based Rental Assistance to ensure eligible participants are housed after successfully exiting the program.
It is Homeless Service’s intent to create opportunity to increase access to job training, classes, and housing for Fairfield homeless individuals, while strengthening collaboration between service providers and employers willing to provide living-wage job opportunities for those in need. “Mission Samoa’s program model deeply aligns with our philosophy to help homeless individuals develop skills to obtain living wage employment so they can live independent and productive lives,” says Eugene Ahu, Executive Director of Mission Samoa, Inc. “We are excited to implement this program and look forward to the successes of the participants.”
The Homeless Services Division understands that The Way Home is not the same for everyone. This is where collaborative partnerships and resources come into play to ensure we help these individuals on their way to exiting homelessness. It is these sorts of partnerships - utilizing existing City and community resources, that ensure a permanent reduction in homelessness in Fairfield.
