The City of Fairfield is accepting applications for Youth Commission, Rockville Hills Regional Park Citizen Advisory Committee, and Planning Commission.
Two seats are available on the Youth Commission for a term of January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2022. Applicants must be residents of Fairfield and between the ages of 12 and 21. Mayor Harry Price will appoint the commission members with the approval of the City Council.
Members of the Youth Commission serve as an advisory body to the Fairfield City Council on community-wide issues or projects having the potential to impact youth of the community. The Youth Commission interacts with the other City commissions as deemed necessary by project or issue.
The Youth Commission currently meets on the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. Youth interested in being considered for the commission need to fully commit to making a difference in our community. APPLICATION
The City of Fairfield is accepting applications for the Rockville Hills Regional Park Citizen Advisory Committee. One seat will be available due to a resignation to fill an unexpired term of January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2022. Applicants must be residents of Solano County with at least three members of the committee being residents of Fairfield. The mayor will appoint the committee member with the approval of the City Council. APPLICATION
The Rockville Hills Regional Park Citizens Advisory Committee is a five-person committee created to provide the City with feedback and input regarding major decisions affecting Rockville Hills Regional Park. Committee members must have three years of either professional or volunteer experience in public and open space and recreation endeavors or a unique familiarity and knowledge of Rockville Hills Regional Park. Committee members will be selected based on their ability to fairly represent the multitude of recreation users and special interest groups that use the Park. No one user or special interest group shall be overrepresented.
Fairfield is accepting applications for two (2) seats on the Planning Commission. The term for both seats is from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2025.
The Planning Commission currently meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber. It acts, under state law, as the principal land use advisory board to the City Council. By ordinance, the council has delegated certain land use decision making to the commission.
The Planning Commission reviews and makes decisions on applications for new development in the City of Fairfield. These include residential, commercial, and industrial development projects, as well as public buildings. The commission reviews these projects with regard to consistency with the City’s General Plan and Zoning Ordinance, potential impacts on the environment, availability of public facilities and services, project aesthetics, and site layout. In addition, the Planning Commission makes recommendations to the council on long-range comprehensive plans that shape the future vision of the physical development of the city over the next twenty to thirty years.
