Volunteers needed for PAL Skate Nights

Have a WHEELY good time making sure local teens have a safe and fun summer by volunteering at the Fairfield PAL Teen Center’s Parking Lot Skate Nights.

Volunteers will help make this outdoor skating rink fun and safe by:

  • teaching individual or group roller-skating lessons
  • leading group dances like the Cha Cha Slide, the hokey pokey, the Cupid Shuffle, and more
  • hosting roller skating contests and skills challenges like the limbo
  • assisting with an outdoor video screen / projector and filming skaters so they can see themselves on the big screen
  • assisting with checking roller-skate and skate-mates in and out, and “to go” snack packs

There is a short process to become a PAL volunteer, that includes a local background check through the Fairfield Police Department and an orientation.  All costs are covered by the program.  For more information or to start the process, please call (707) 422-6288.

The Parking Lot Skate Nights will start at 7 p.m., ending at 10 p.m., and feature a live DJ, special requests and dedications, contests, a glow gallery and more.  Skates are provided, but PAL members may bring their own.  Limited Skate Mate trainers are available for new skaters. Skate nights run from July 2 through August 20, 2021.   A FREE PAL membership is required to participate.  Fairfield PAL is open to Fairfield, Suisun, and Travis teens, ages 13-18, who are enrolled in school. Due to COVID restrictions, space will be limited, and so advanced signups will be required.
