It’s National Police Women’s Day! A celebration to honor the countless sacrifices and dedication of our female police officers, including those who paved way before them and contributed to the success of our department. Our gratitude extends to all our female staff at the Fairfield Police Department. Together you play an integrate part in advancing safety, service, and the quality of life in Fairfield.
Women bring an important perspective to policing that is critical to our ongoing success.
We are honored to join the 30 x 30 national initiative in advancing women in policing by the year 2030. Currently, women make up only 12% of sworn officers and 3% of police leadership in the U.S.
“Women make up 8% of our sworn officers within the Fairfield Police Department. Our ultimate goal is to increase the representation of women in police recruit classes to 30% by 2030, and to ensure police policies and culture intentionally support the success of qualified women officers throughout their career.” – Fairfield, CA Police Chief, Deanna Cantrell.
