Urban Century: America's Return to Main Street

The City and the Fairfield Main Street Association are hosting a free screening of the film, Urban Century: America’s Return to Main Street on Thursday, March 30 at the Downtown Theatre, 1035 Texas Street. This event is free and open to the public but seating is limited. Downtown business owners, property owners, and Fairfield residents are encouraged to attend.

After decades of decline due to suburban sprawl, downtown communities across the country are once again becoming vibrant, desirable destinations to live, work, and play. This film examines this current rebirth of Main Street through the lens of several towns, including Flint, MI and Joplin, MO. Urban Century takes a refreshingly hopeful look at how these places from our past are becoming the key to our country's future. This isn't a story about saving Main Street, but about how Main Street just might save us. View the trailer at: https://vimeo.com/93334801

A discussion regarding the Heart of Fairfield Plan will follow the film. Panel participants from the City of Fairfield and the Fairfield Main Street Association will be available for questions from the audience.

Attendees are invited to enjoy a welcome reception at 6:30 p.m. prior to the film. The film will begin at 7 p.m. with the panel discussion immediately following at 8 p.m.
