Are you a caregiver for a loved one?

If you're a caregiver for a loved one with Alzheimer's or dementia and are feeling overwhelmed, help is available. Consult with a dementia specialist from the Alzheimer's Assocation at the Adult Recreation Center on Thursday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1200 Civic Center Drive. Ms. Sproul will be at ARC every fourth Thursday of the month thereafter.

To make a free appointment, please contact Dori Sproul, at 925.284.7942. Meeting with a dementia specialist will provide advice, resources, education, and help developing a plan for the road ahead. Ms. Sproul, M.A., is a Family Care Specialist.

In addition, the Senior Day Program is offered at ARC on Monday, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is a community-based program designed to promote the quality of life for isolated, frail, and impaired adults. This structured, comprehensive program provides a variety of activities, all designed to focus on the strengths of each individual.

Activities include physical exercise, music, reminiscence, crafts, games, and more all provided in a safe, caring, and secure environment. A fee is charged for this program. To register or for more information, please contact Kristin Einberger at 707.428.7654.
