The City of Fairfield is seeking community members interested in making a difference and working with others to join the recently formed Tree & Sidewalk Maintenance Task Force. Fairfield is over a hundred years old and has over 650 miles of sidewalks and 70,000 trees within City properties and easements. These community assets are aging and require increased efforts for maintenance and repairs. The task force has been established to work with City staff to make recommendations to the City Council on alternatives to address the City’s growing maintenance needs and liabilities.
The City of Fairfield is now accepting applications for the task force. The task force will have five members and the terms expire when the task force completes its report and makes recommendations to the City Council. Applicants must be Fairfield residents. Mayor Harry Price will appoint the task force members with the approval of the City Council.
Applications are available at the City Clerk’s Office at Fairfield City Hall, 1000 Webster Street, 4th floor. Download the application, or request one by mail or email by contacting Deputy City Clerk Eva Hoff at 707.428.7402. Completed applications may be submitted via mail, email, or in person.
The City is not responsible for lost or misdirected applications. Applications received after the deadline, including postmarks, will not be accepted. A timely filed application will remain on file for one year if the applicant is not appointed as a committee member. The application deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2018.
