Public Works crews reached a major milestone in August with the completion of a retaining wall on the south side of Vanden Road, which is east of the Fairfield Vacaville Train Stop. In July the project team installed a 21-inch sewer line along Vanden Road, which will serve the new housing in Canon Station, adjacent to the project area. View the video.
The retaining wall will secure the southern segment of the new Vanden Road, which resides on a 6-foot slope, from shifting into the adjacent Union Pacific Railroad’s right of way. While installing the retaining wall, the Jepson construction crew worked directly with PG&E to safeguard the three existing power poles that were in the path of the retaining wall. What's next?
