More Renewable, Locally Controlled Electric Service Starts April 2022

The City Fairfield has partnered with Marin Clean Energy (MCE), a local not-for-profit public agency, to provide residents and businesses with a choice of more renewable electricity options at stable and competitive rates. Starting in April 2022, MCE automatically became the primary provider for electricity generation and replaced PG&E’s generation service on your bill. MCE’s standard service option offers a minimum of 60% renewable energy compared to PG&E’s 31% renewable energy generation. PG&E will continue to deliver energy, maintain lines and infrastructure, and send bills. Residents can choose to remain with PG&E’s electric generation service by opting out of MCE service should they desire.
